Zeiss i.Scription : Solutions to poor night vision after Lasik surgery

One common complaint that we often get from people who had laser corrective surgery (eg. Lasik) is poor night vision. They usually have residual myopia or astigmatism which do not cause significant visual problems in the daytime.

They can function normally in the daytime. However, when it comes to night time vision or in low light conditions, they often complain of significant “blur”, even though their myopia or astigmatism is very low. People (no lasik done) who has the same amount of myopia or astigmatism do not complain of that “blur” at night.

Research have shown that Lasik can significantly increase ocular higher order aberrations, which compromise the post-operative contrast sensitivity function despite good vision after surgery. http://www.iovs.org/content/45/11/3986.long

We find that often times, night time vision or vision in low light conditions can be improved  when their myopia and astigmatism is fully corrected. However this does not correct for higher order aberrations due to Lasik, which can affect vision in low contrast situation (night time or low light conditions).

zeiss-iscription-night-vision_20_09_00006With Zeiss i.scription, we will be able go give you better vision at night and in low light as it’s able to customise a prescription that takes into account the higher order aberrations in your eyes.

When the eyes are confronted by light sources at night, reflections and halos can cause frequent interferences. i.Scription reduces these effects considerably — for increased safety at night.

ZEISS precision eyeglass lenses with i.Scription technology will enhance your vision and your experiences

The creation of your individual i.Scription begins with an examination with the i.Profilerplus® (Patent) by ZEISS, which analyzes more than 2,500 reference points within your eye, providing your eye care professional with an extremely detailed vision profile.

i.Profilerplus is unique because it allows your eye care professional to take measurements of dilated pupils under low-light vision conditions. As a result, vision problems that have a considerable impact of the quality of a person’s night time vision can be recognized and improved.

i.Scription technology uses the information gathered from the examination with the i.Profilerplus in addition to the eye care professional’s measurements to produce an extremely precise prescription that matches your unique vision challenges. The subsequent lenses are refined to an accuracy far higher than traditional eyeglass lenses. With your unique visual profile, your eye doctor determines your precise prescription, and can create ZEISS customized lenses with i.Scription to deliver your best vision possible.
