MYKITA | Leica
MYKITA | LEICA is a collaboration between two industry leaders of design and quality made in Germany, dedicated to bringing the highest level of engineering to the world of eyewear.
Defined by its shared commitment to holistic product development, pioneering technology and precision craftsmanship, the partnership pairs the innovative product engineering by MYKITA with the iconic design, the finest lenses and optics from the premium camera brand.
A defined sense of transparency, pure and minimalistic: LESSRIM is ultimate refinement in eyewear.
MYKITA reinterprets the traditional rimless concept with the help of latest advancements in surface treatment technology. Ultra-fine rims hold the lenses without the need for perforation. Only 0.5 millimetres wide, the stainless steel rim lies flush in the groove of the lens perimeter leaving a faintly shimmering outline.
Pure shapes meet with subtle metallic colourways and understated functional detailing for virtually translucent aesthetic. The tapered stainless steel temples feature an elongated acetate temple end to optimise the weight balance of the glasses. This reduced material concept amounts to outstanding lightness and comfort.
Collection NO1 laid the foundation for MYKITA.
Fashioned from stainless steel sheets, the frames are made into a three-dimensional structure through a series of bending and folding steps, similar to the Japanese art of origami.
The modern principle behind the openly displayed spiral hinge represents the design approach that has informed all subsequent MYKITA collections: the technical solution must also be an aesthetic one.
The LITE collection is defined by modern silhouettes and pure constructions.
Whether primarily made of sleek stainless steel or in a material mix with acetate, the reduced LITE design concept stands for supreme comfort in a refined aesthetic.
Classic panto shapes of the Thirties, strong lines of the Sixties or the oversize forms of the Seventies and Eighties – the DECADES collection interprets historical eyewear styles for the here and now.
