Zeiss i.Profiler plus is Evershine Optical’s new three in one eye testing device. It combines wavefront aberrometry, corneal topography and auto-refraction in one, highly automated unit.Once captured, the i.Profiler Plus wavefront data is blended with the optometrist’s own manual eye sight test (subjective refraction) using proprietary Zeiss software. This is done to compensate for the fact that standard subjective refraction is performed in a high-contrast, single-light level environment which does not take into account higher-order aberrations that come into play as the pupil dilates in low light conditions.The i.Profiler system accounts for these aberrations to create an optimised prescription in all light conditions, including low light. This highly innovative system is totally unique to Carl Zeiss and is used to produce a ZEISS free-form lens, accurate to 1/100th of a dioptre.
The i.Profiler Plus combines subjective refraction and wavefront-guided analysis with proprietary software to produce an optimised spectacle correction called i.Scription, that takes into consideration both lower-order and higher-order aberrations that are unique to each eye.Additionally, the i.Profiler Plus contains the ATLAS Corneal Topography system with optional ATLAS MasterFit II contact lens fitting and PathFinder II corneal analysis software. As such, the i.Profiler Plus can be used for spectacle lens prescription as well as for contact lens fitting, ortho-k and corneal pathology detection. The i.Profiler Plus can also be used for standard auto-refraction.
